INDIANAPOLIS, August 25, 2021 – Sharpen Technologies, developers of the agent-first omnichannel cloud contact center platform, was named to the 2021 Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the top companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
This year Sharpen finished at #1290 on the list due to a 372% 3-year growth rate. The company improved almost 1600 spots from 2020, where the tech company came in at # 2888 with a growth rate of 137%.
“The 2021 Inc. 5000 list feels like one of the most important rosters of companies ever compiled,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. “Building one of the fastest-growing companies in America in any year is a remarkable achievement. Building one in the crisis we’ve lived through is just plain amazing. This kind of accomplishment comes with hard work, smart pivots, great leadership, and the help of a whole lot of people.”
Between 2017 and 2020, Sharpen increased subscription cloud bookings by more than 750%; grew customer traffic volumes by 17.5x; added 1625% new customers and expanded existing customer spending by 30% on average a year; tripled the number of implementation partners; multiplied the number of sales partners by 10x; and secured $40 million in outside funding.
“This is truly an honor and a testament to our team and our agent-first approach as we modernize legacy contact centers,” said Sharpen CEO Bill Gildea. “Over the last couple of years, we’ve been able to grow and differentiate ourselves from our competitors by providing real, measurable, hard-dollar ROI for our customers. For many of them, it’s been amazing to see how the cost of using our platform has paid for itself in just a matter of months.”
The complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000. The top 500 companies are featured in the September issue of Inc., which will be available on newsstands on August 20.
