Indiana Chamber ranks Sharpen second in the small company category
INDIANAPOLIS, June 8, 2018 – Sharpen Technologies , developers of the agent-first omni-channel cloud contact center platform, has been named among the Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber.
Sharpen was ranked second out of 57 firms that were included in the small company category (between 15 and 74 employees).
“Over the last 12 months we’ve increased staff by more than 25 percent and have already grown our employee base to 80-plus since filing our Best Places to Work application,” said Sharpen founder and CEO Cameron Weeks. “Our growth continues to be fueled by the rapid increase in demand for our contact center platform. We designed our platform to address agent issues at the root of poor customer experiences—issues that have gone unsolved by industry leaders for the last 20-plus years.”
Sharpen’s success is buoyed by an industry that’s expected to grow from $6.8 billion in 2017, to $20.93 billion by 2022, which is a compound annual growth rate of 25.2 percent.
“We’re poised to fill a gaping hole in an industry experiencing dynamic growth, but we’re only as good as our people,” Weeks said. “That means giving employees challenging and meaningful work and fostering trust through transparency. It also means rewarding our people in tangible ways.”
Sharpen’s many benefits include paying 100 percent of medical, dental and vision insurance premiums. The company also covers life insurance and contributes to employee health savings accounts.
Other perks include unlimited paid time off, ample training and mentoring opportunities, recognition awards, bonuses, shared volunteer activities, and reimbursement for cell phones, gym memberships and parking.
According to employees, Sharpen’s fast-paced and tight-knit culture is also what makes it a best place to work.
“I’ve never been more mentally stimulated at work,” said Adam Settle, director of learning and development. “Being at a startup, you get to wear many different hats. You know the work you’re doing has a direct impact on the company and that’s a great feeling.”
“The people here are fantastic from the top down!,” said Debra Clark, quality assurance engineer. “Everyone is always willing to help and I’m treated as an adult, not micromanaged.”
“This is an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration to get the job done,” said Joe Davis, premiere sales account executive. “It’s also gratifying to know that the solutions we build help improve the work life of others.”
